About HJA

At Hoopoe Jeweled Art, jewelry is just that - Art. Meant to tell a story, make a statement or bring sheer joy. Look in the mirror and experience the beauty.

Wearing my Sea Turtle Fringe earrings always makes me smile.

It wasn't Sea Turtles that sparked my "fringe" endeavor, however, but another creature - a bird, the Hoopoe. Fringe reminds me of feathers so I wanted a bird to represent my online store. All were just, well, too common and I wanted to be uncommon. As I do most of my inspiration, I found just the perfect bird to represent me, and I do hope you, in the Bible.

In summary*, the Hoopoe bore the burden of uncleanness in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, the apostle Peter was given a vision of a sheet descending from heaven filled with all the unclean animals. God told him, "Take and eat." Peter was aghast. No way. Never have I, never would I. The second time, the Lord said "Take and eat," He added, "What God has made clean, do not call common." He repeated it again. Three times.

That's me. That represents me. A dirty bird cleaned by God.

How does that relate to jewelry? Any creator knows that  ordinary materials are often dull (think gemstones) and dirty (think gold), but refined and fashioned become anything but ordinary....or common.

Hoopoe Jeweled Art aims to bring beauty to life from the ordinary and glory to God as the source of inspiration.
